SAN FRANCISCO

in march 2025, karl and i made a trip to SF to see gleemer, one of my all time favorite bands. we had a marvelous time - it was full of steep walks, sesame balls, sea lions, fog (which is coincidentally named karl), and a lot of sillies.

when we walked into the venue to see gleemer, we started perusing the merch table. we knew all under heaven was opening but when we saw present's merch we freaked out like teenage girls who just found out they were going to see taylor swift. present is another of our favorite bands and a few of their songs were on repeat in the early phases of our relationship. it felt too perfect.

you know how sometimes it feels like songs were written about you and your lover? that's how certain gleemer and present songs feel to me. seeing them with her was a dream, a moment that makes you wonder if the whole world was rigged in your favor.

with the rest of our time we hiked all over the city and got a solid sampler. we got matching tattoos, stayed in a questionable hotel, and ate clam chowder in the freezing cold to duck out of the rain.
